Spanish Cinema Week
Spanish Cinema Week is a film festival organised by AP Manana, the Embassy of Spain and the Instituto Cervantes. It is the biggest presentation of Spanish cinema outside of Spain. Since 2001, it takes place every year at the turn of March and April in the biggest Polish cities: Warsaw, Cracow, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Łódź, Poznań and Katowice. It is a festival for enthusiasts of Spanish language and culture, journeys and Mediterranean lifestyle, as well as fans of good cinema. The selection present a wide range of Spanish films including box office hits, subtle arthouse cinema and spine-tingling documentaries. The diversity of genres and subjects pleases even the most demanding audience. The main section of the Spanish Cinema Week is the New Spanish Cinema. It presents the most famous and intriguing new Spanish films, the majority of which has not been previously shown in Poland. A number of those are movies presented at the most important international film festivals and awarded with the most prestigious prizes.
